[FILIPPO TAGLIAFERRI] Corso completo di Calligrafia. N.p., n.d. Oblong folio. 40 ff. An Italian calligraphic instruction book, presumably from the eighteenth or nineteenth century. Containing thirty-nine leaves of engraved alphabets and other lettering examples, including blackletter, double-letter, antique, and numerous examples in script, presented in a large, bold format.
Printed on supple, heavy paper, with the main portion of each leaf bearing a shallow impression in which the lettering example is situated, and the raised outer margins of the leaf creating a frame around the example.
Bound in mottled-paper boards backed in leather, with gilt lettering to the spine. Spine rubbed, some chipping to board edges and bumping to fore-corners, internally bright and fine. (21900) $650.00 |
