Gunnar Kaldewey offers a poetic, intimate encounter with and a nostalgic history of one of America's most visited and inspiring rivers. The Hudson River was followed a year later by Volume 2: Der Rhein, and both parts were dedicated to John Cage. Text of this volume printed in green, with occasional red and yellow. Illustrations evocative of rhythmic water-flow throughout. The entire book can be unfolded to create a long panorama. Light crease to covers, else extremely fine in soft teal morocco.
