Alfabeti e Ornati dei Sec. XIV e XV tolti dai Corali del R. Museo di S. Marco Firenze.

Price: $250.00
Firenze: A. Pini, (c. 1935). Quarto. A set of twelve sheets, unbound as issued, showing a variety of ornamental alphabets. Printed in numerous colors including red, blue, green, and gold. Several of the sheets appear to be printed by chromolithography, with exquisitely rendered colors. Includes the original parchment paper chemise, which bears the title with nine ornamental capitals in red, blue, and black. Sheets very slightly toned around the edges. The original chemise, which has become fairly brittle and delicate, is chipped at the edges and torn at the flap folds, one of the flaps having detached entirely; also quite toned. Nevertheless, together with the sheets, this is a lovely example of ornate calligraphic lettering. (Item ID: 22094)
