Paris: R. Phelipeaux, (c. 1840). (4)ff. A dance card in the form of a miniature book with ivory covers, engraved with the word "Bal" on the front. The book is held closed with a tiny pencil that slips into two loops. The young lady can enter the names of her partners for three dances: galops, valses, and contredanses. Illustrated with three engravings depicting couples dancing. Some writing in pencil to interior, spine sightly rubbed, else about fine. (1 3/4 by 1 1/4; 45x32mm). (Item ID: 24088)
