The original leaf, which has been expertly and invisibly repaired along the crease, is from "Man The Reformer," a lecture delivered before the Mechanics Apprentices' Library Association on January 25th, 1841. The set of Complete Works is together with a ten-volume, large paper edition of The Journals. One of 600 copies. Photograph of Emerson taken by George Kendall Warren circa 1870 laid in.
