Wood Type of the Angelica Press.

Brooklyn: Angelica Press, 1975. Four folio volumes, each unbound as issued. One of 220 numbered copies printed by Dennis and Marilyn Grastorf. The titles include: "A History of Wood Types"; "How to Print Wood Type," with illustrations by Marilyn Grastorf; "Forty-nine Fonts of Wood Type"; and "Posters." The type specimens are complete and correspond to the printed list save for the inclusion of a sheet of 4-line Antique Tuscan Expanded that is not called for. This was perhaps an oversight, as there is also a repeat entry for the 10-line Grecian Condensed. All the examples are printed directly from wood type. Each volume is laid into dark blue wrappers and housed in a wooden case, with two clasps and a wood type poster as a label. A couple of very faint scratches to one side of the wooden box, else very fine. Prospectus and T.L.s. from Dennis Grastorf laid in. One of the finest books of the Press and one of the best books on the subject. Item #19069
