The effect, as the jacket copy rightly describes it, is a "haunting combination of word and image." Baskin, the renowned sculptor, artist, and founder of the Gehenna Press, shared a long friendship with Hughes, and had previously illustrated the poet's famous "Crow" seqence. Bound in full black cloth, lettered in gold on spine. Dust jacket illustrated with drawings repeated from interior.
