A collection of eighteen poems by writers who contributed their work as a form of opposition to the Vietnam War. The collection was edited by the artist Jack Sonenberg and contains works by Denise Levertov, Robert Creeley, Anthony Hecht, Robert Duncan, and others. The work was intended to raise money for Artists & Writers Protest Inc., an organization of artists who opposed the Vietnam War and who felt that their work should be a vehicle for political commentary and change. The group grew out of the Greenwich Village Peace Center & War Resisters' League, and they staged protest demonstrations and events throughout New York City. This portfolio was published during their first year, in 1967. Printed in black with red titles and rules. Fine in tan wrappers. Item #24751
