The volume opens with a frontispiece portrait of Ferlinghetti in profile, reproduced from a charcoal drawing on handmade paper. First published in 1958, this collection of poems contains some of the poet's most famous works, including "Constantly risking absurdity" and "Don't let that horse / eat that violin." Bound in yellow paper-covered boards backed in gray cloth illustrated with a tribute to the Ferlihghetti by the artist, portraying him next to an all-seeing eye.
