Mechanical Perpetual Calendar Postcard.

(The Netherlands: c. 1890). A late nineteenth-century chromolithographed and embossed Dutch postcard, measuring 5 3/8 by 3 1/2 inches (137x88mm). The postcard is made up of two layers, between which spin three wheels printed with the days of the week, dates, and months. The front of the card shows three young fairies and a flower bedecked carriage. Windows revealing the day, month, and date appear as various parts of the carriage. The obverse of the postcard has a handwritten address in Amsterdam, and a return address in Wien, though there is no stamp or cancellation, so the postcard was likely never sent through the mail. Some wear to wheel edges, and minor soiling to card, else near fine, Item #26527

Price: $100.00
