The book is a miniature version of an article that appeared in the December 1979 issue of the Texas Monthly describing some of the state's "diminutive bests." These include the Houston Astrodome, the world's smallest indoor stadium, the Hinckley oak, which occurs naturally only in two areas of Texas and rarely grows over two feet, and Diffily Ranch, home to miniature horses and pygmy goats.
