(Gregynog Press)

The Lovers of Teruel binder's dummy.

Fisher, George (illus.)

(Newton): Gregynog Press, 1938. Large octavo. Binder's dummy, with all pages blank. The edition was limited to 175 copies, translated from the Spanish by Henry Thomas. The binding is full red morocco, with a geometric pattern blind-tooled on both covers. Top edge red. Gregynog Press books were created under one roof, from design through printing all the way to binding. George Fisher, who started at Gregynog Press in 1925, was the primary binder and was responsible for designing and making most of the Press's finely tooled, full-leather bindings, such as this one. Gracefully initialed by Edward Lyndoe to the front free flyleaf, and with a blank piece of his letterhead laid in. Minor rubbing to foredge and faint fading to spine, else fine. (Harrop 38).
