Thomas Jefferson.

Percival E. Jackson, (c. 1952). (12)pp. An apparently unrecorded miniature book containing a campaign poem by eminent lawyer and law scholar Percival E. Jackson. The book bears no publication information other than a prefatory note stating that a condensed version of this verse was circulated as campaign material in the 1952 Presidential campaign. The eight-page poem is presented in the voice of Jefferson, who extols the accomplishments of the Founding Fathers, notes a decline in the state of the Republic leading up to the '52 campaign, and exhorts readers to vote for General Eisenhower. Finely bound in gilt-tooled morocco, with marbled endpapers and gilt-decorated turn-ins. Housed in a book-shaped full-morocco case, with the title in gilt on the upper cover. The case is lined in velvet and holds a magnifier in addition to the book. An extremely rare, if not unique miniature book, not held in any institution or listed in any miniature books reference. (Book measures about 1 inch square; 24mm square. Box measures 5 13/16 by 4 3/8; 147x110mm). Item #27704
