Promotional Pamphlets for Films.

(Denmark: c. 1947-1960). All 16mo. 8-12pp. each. A collection of forty-seven promotional booklets for films based on books. Produced exclusively in Denmark and printed in Danish, these booklets were for sale outside movie theaters—the booklet for "Baby Doll" even has a ticket stub laid in, and the one for "On the Beach" ends with a seating chart for the Palladium Theater. Each pamphlet contains stills from the production, a list of credits, and a plot synopsis, and most also bear headshots and brief biographies of the principal actors. The films include "A Streetcar Named Desire," "East of Eden," "A Raisin in the Sun," and "War and Peace." All are in pictorial wrappers and staple-bound. "The Night of the Iguana" is torn where a headshot ought to be, "Helen Keller's Triumph" has half-inch tears to top and bottom of spine, and a few pamphlets bear handwritten commentary. Otherwise, all are crisp, with expected soiling to exteriors. Item #27953
