The illustrations are photo-collages by John Baldassari, contained in a separate volume, bound as an 82-page panorama in gilt-titled green boards, and signed by the artist. A third volume contains "Laurence Sterne and Tristram Shandy," an essay by Melvyn New, who edited the text, and some of the original Hogarth illustrations.
