Buffalo, NY: Breed, Butler & Co., 1866. 62pp. One of six titles in the fourth series of miniatures authored by popular children's writer Barrow under the noms de plume Aunt Fanny and Aunt Laura. Noted by Bradbury as "high spots in any miniature book collection," the Aunt Fanny volumes offer stories about common childhood activities such as hearing a tale, and are known for introducing secular material to the moral and religious content prevailing in children's literature of the time. In blue cloth boards with title and decorative design gilt-stamped on cover. Gilt on front cover somewhat rubbed and spine faded, otherwise a fine copy overall. A.e.g. (Bradbury, pp. 184-185).
