San Francisco: Arion Press, 2007. Small quarto. 217pp. One of 400 copies, signed by the artist, Kiki Smith. Each of Dickinson's poems is illustrated with an etching styled after a sewing sampler. The images and text, both as quiet and solitary activities, work together to grant a certain nobility and grace to pastimes traditionally defined as "women's work." Bound in half-morocco with cloth over boards, with titling sewn in using a similar sampler style. Very fine in matching slipcase. Prospectus and list of first lines laid in. Together with the 1998 keepsake issued by the Arion Press, a single sheet bearing one of Dickinson's poems. Item #28435
(Arion Bibliography 81).
