(Allied Newspapers)

Complete Works.

London: Allied Newspapers, (ca.1932). 40 volumes. Each volume has a frontispiece illustration. Includes a volume of Sonnets and a Glossary and Bibliography. This set was printed in Scotland to commemorate the opening of the Royal Shakespeare Theater in Stratford-upon-Avon. Typically encountered in a binding of black imitation leather, and housed in a simple wooden bookcase, this set is bound in full red leather, spines decorated in gilt. In all likelihood, this was a deluxe binding offered by the publisher. It is presently housed in a custom plexiglass box with a flip-up lid. A very fine set of this famous Shakespeare miniature publication.(Bondy 123, Welsh 6344). (2 1/16 by 1 3/8; 52x35mm.). Item #28749
