Printing for Theater.

San Francisco: 1957. Folio. 57pp. One of 250 copies. Wilson's first book as an author, this text chronicles his career with examples of programs and announcements which he printed for "The Interplayers," a San Francisco drama group of which his wife was a member. He wrote in his bibliography "The text developed into a combined history of the first ten years of our theater and the evolution of my theory and practice in design and printing." (Wilson 60). Throughout the text are interleaved and tipped-in examples of his work. A pocket in the back cover houses many more, all printed in many colors on many papers. Printed primarily in red and black, this is considered to be Wilson's magnum opus. Some toning overall, particularly noticeable at rear pocket, else near fine in decorated cloth. Item #28804
