Two colored etchings by Bruskin, which depict groups of figures carved like marble statues, immovable allegories to modern Russian symbology. They visualize Akhmatova's perceptions of the Soviet state, in all its sympathies and ironies, with appropriate magnitude and depth. Bound in black linen over boards with exposed black morocco spine, and title in gilt on recessed leather label. Lacking slipcase and accompanying CD-ROM, which bears Sir John Tavener's interpretation of the Requiem for the symphony. Near fine. LEC newsletter and track list for Tavener's CD laid in.
