Inscribed by the author, Arnold Taylor, and signed by the artist, David Woodford, with a letter from each to Hugh Pritchard laid in. Forward by the Prince of Wales. Illustrated with eight etchings showing the four titular castles. In his letter, Woodford comments that "The vertical 4 1/4" format that I was obliged to work to was less than convenient to depict those vast structures, however it was an interesting challenge." Printed in black with ochre decorations by Eric Gee, and bound in gray parchment boards, ruled in black, with a gilt shield on the upper cover, by Desmond Shaw after a design by James Brockman. Housed in a buckram slipcase. Spine faded, with a bit of wear to the spine titling, lower board splayed, else a near fine copy. Item #28867
