NY: Typophiles, 1965. 16mo. One of 150 copies. Fifty-one leaflets written and produced by various printers as a keepsake for Alftred A. Knopf in celebration of his fiftieth year as a book publisher. Contributors include Ward Ritchie, Plantin Press, Rampant Lions Press, Anvil Press, Peter Pauper Press, Spiral Press, Grimalkin Press, and Cummington Press, among others. The leaflets are printed on high-quality paper, and many are illustrated. A wonderful sampler of fine printing specimens from some of the most important presses of the day. Housed in a purple slipcase, which bears a wraparound label. Slipcase and label with some light soiling; leaflets very fine. This is Paul A. Bennett's copy, with an ALs from Charles Antin on Serendipity Press letterhead thanking him for his help with the Keepsake, and a TLs from Antin on Delacorte Press letterhead discussing a trade publication on Golf, and touching on a request from UCLA for a copy of the Knopf Keepsake for use in an exhibition.
