The Infant's Cabinet of Various Objects.
London (but Hertfordshire): John Marshall (but Anne and Peter Stockham), 1801 (but 1976). One of forty-eight copies. In this "cabinet," there are two miniature books and a collection of twenty-eight hand-colored engravings of the objects listed in the books. The books are bound in full leather, one maroon and one orange. The whole is boxed in a cloth-covered blue slipcase with a gilt-stamped label. Box generally toned, else a near fine facsimile of one of the rarest 19th-century miniatures sets for children. (Books measure 2 1/2 by 2; 63x53mm). Item #29947
