Mosaic: A Silhouette Puzzle of the Swiss Family Robinson.
(N.p. c. 1900). Boxed set of two puzzles, each featuring nine silhouette images formed from four blocks apiece. Each puzzle has a corresponding guide on paper against blue card. The first puzzle depicts well-known and well-loved scenes from Johann David Wyss' tale, with the silhouettes a marvelous format for presenting the activities of the family about their treehouse. The second puzzle provides a more general view of the playtime games of a small boy and girl. The puzzles are stacked on top of one another, removable from the original box by ribbons affixed to trays. Box shows expected wear to edges and corners, with a single minute split to one corner of lower portion and some subtle repair work. Otherwise a near fine set, with all blocks gleamingly present.
