(Gogmagog Press)

Mediaeval Dream Book: Printed From the Original Latin With an English Translation.

Cox, Morris (illus.)

London: Gogmagog Press, 1963. Slim octavo. (25)pp., frenchfold. One of 100 copies set in Old Cloister Style and printed in black (the title page in black and blue) on handmade paper. Latin interpretations of dream emblems from a fourteenth century text with English translations en face by Brian Cron. With a double-page illustrated title full of knights, dragons, monks and other mediaevalia. Endpapers printed with swirling, galactic monotypes in several colors. This work represents somewhat of a departure from Cox's norm--most likely the case, according to Chambers, because the project came at the request of a friend. Very fine in black and white patterned cloth. Item #30273

(Chambers 130).
