(Breed & Lent)
Daisy & Dot.
Buffalo: Breed & Lent, (c. 1866). 64pp. The third book in Frances Elizabeth Barrow's smallest and rarest series of Aunt Fanny books, focused on the adventures of two cats, Daisy and Dot, and their owners. In addition to her writing, Barrow was a prodigious teacher in New York City, where she educated indigent children. The same didactic and moral tone informs this series, where the activities of the titular cats and their owners often result in a newfound skill, perspective, or value. Bound in blue cloth, heavily ornamented in gilt. Minor exterior rubbing, else fine. A.e.g. (MBC I: 6,8-9; II: 60-61; Welsh 408). (1 1/4 by 1; 33x25mm). Item #30386
