The Lily; or, Little William and His Mama: and Good Children.

London: Dean & Munday, (c. 1820). 32mo. 31pp. Eight engravings, all hand-colored, illustrate first the story of Little William learning the value of obedience, and then a poem, "Good Children," which urges young readers to be helpful to their parents and caregivers, and to make the best of impoverished situations. With only two copies held in institutions, this is a rare chapbook. Internally quite clean, and bound in printed yellow wrappers, which show minor soiling, and the spine of which has been expertly strengthened. Near fine overall. Item #30396
