The illustration was designed by Edward Burne-Jones and depicts a scene from "The Legend of Good Women" in which Lucrece on the verge of suicide, an act that would incite the Romans to rise against their monarchial rulers and establish a republic. Also features a 19-line opening initial, as well as nine 3-line initials on the recto and verso. Signed by John Windle below the limitation.
