Volume I contains numerous specimen woodcuts, title pages, advertisements, letterheads, and color photographs tipped or bound in, all showing various aspects of Hunter's non-papermaking work, including enamel, stained glass, and his work at the Roycrofters. Volume II concerns Hunter's independent papermaking career, with similar items, plus 23 full-page paper specimens, proof sheets, and pamphlets from Hunter's book productions. Pages are deckle-edged. These two volumes were the labor of eleven years for Dard Hunter II and stand as the most definitive and touching monument to his father's work. Extremely fine, bound in three-quarter leather, with cover paper designed using a motif of green and pink leaves characteristic of Hunter's drawings. In original cloth folding cases with gilt-stamped morocco spine labels. Prospectus laid in to the first volume. Item #30423
