Mother Hubbard's Alphabet and the History of Mother Hubbard and Her Dog.

London: T.H. Munday, n.d. (c. 1840). Tall octavo. 8ff. (first and last leaves pasted to wrappers). Illustrated with fourteen hand-colored engravings. Outer page margins contain letters of the alphabet in a hand-colored border. This title was published after the 1838 dissolution of the publishing firm Dean & Munday, after Thomas Dean and Thomas Munday—who were cousins—went their separate ways. Aesthetically, this book resembles a Dean work, from the cover layout to the illustrations. It is also unrecorded. Deep crease to lower third of the book, endleaves lifting at the corners, revealing wrapper reinforcement using scraps of earlier publications, upper page corners folded. Overall, very good in printed yellow wrappers. Item #30466
