Home. George Coolidge.

Boston: Degen & Estes, (1859). 16mo. 8pp. With frontispiece wood engraving by John Andrew, and unsigned engraved head- and tailpieces. A short, sentimental poem with religious undertones about the many interpretations of "home." This is the second title in "My Own Little Library" series, which also appeared under the Taggard & Chase imprint. Both publishers had locations close to one another on Boston's publisher-rich Cornhill in 1859. In fact, Dana Estes joined Henry Degen's firm in 1859—the year in which this book was published. Estes left the firm to fight in the Civil War in 1861, and later teamed up with bookseller Charles Lauriat to found the Estes & Lauriat publishing house. Fine and bright in publisher's pale pink printed wrappers. Item #30699
