A follow-up to the 1939 publication of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, also illustrated by Benton, whom the publisher George Macy wrote "was born for the purpose of illustrating Tom Sawyer." Huckleberry Finn's book includes forty-five full-page drawings, plus forty-three chapter openers. Designed by Carl Purington Rollins, and edited and with an Introduction by Bernard DeVoto. Very fine in full butternut-colored cloth with paper label to spine. Top edge green. Includes publisher's slipcase, which shows very minor soiling, splits at box opening, not affecting the box's structural integrity, fading to spine, and paper loss to one edge. Item #31219
