Boxwood.

Stone, Reynolds (illus.)

London: Warren Editions, 1982. 16mo. One of 75 copies. Twenty-four engravings, individually matted and loose. Nineteen of the engravings were originally printed in Boxwood, the Monotype Corporation's 1957 type specimen for Dante. The rest of the currently present images were added to the initial nineteen in the Boxwood reprint issued by Chatto & Windus in 1960. The set easily evinces Stone's precision and his talent for crafting depth of field. All were reprinted by Stone's daughter, Phillida Gili, using his own 1853 Hopkinson & Cope Albion. Housed in cloth-covered box, with only a suggestion of rubbing to corners. Fine. Prospectus laid in. Item #31258
