"The Village Pub" and "Going to the Pub"

Leighton, Claire (illus.)

(N.p. n.d.). Two small woodcut prints. Each is one of 60 copies, and is titled, numbered, and signed by Leighton. "The Village Pub" depicts a quaint country pub house nestled among trees. "Going to the Pub" shows a man wtih hat, pipe, and cane apparently headed to his social destination. Because of the prints' smaller sizes, they may have later served as designs for bookplates. Small foxing to upper left corner of "Going to the Pub," distant from the image, otherwise both prints fine. ("The Village Pub" measures 3 15/16 by 6 1/8 in.; 100x155 mm; "Going to the Pub" measures 5 9/16 by 3 11/16 in.; 141x95 mm). Item #31381
