(Scott, Sir Walter)

[Poems].

NY: Frederick A. Stokes, (c. 1900). Six 64mo. vols. 192; 191; (163); 165; (176); 158pp. Each volume begins with a unique frontispiece of landmarks around Scotland: Scott's family home of Abbotsford, Ellen's Isle on Loch Katrine, Newark Castle, the House of Lorn, Norham Castle, and Smailholm Tower. The six volumes together comprise a compendium of Scott's shorter works in poetry and prose. The volumes are, in turn, titled The Doom of Devorgoil, Harold the Dauntless, and Minor Poems; The Lady of the Lake; The Lay of the Last Minstrel and The Bridal of Triermain; The Lord of the Isles and The Vision of Don Roderick; Marmion; and Rokeby and The Field of Waterloo. The printer paid attention to the styles of the era, adding to the heads of pages floral borders that evoke the manner of the Pre-Raphaelites. All bound in maroon cloth with paper spine labels. All labels show some fading and all but those for Marmion and Rokeby have slight chips, mild rubbing to edges of each, else a near fine set, quite rare. A.e.g. Item #31397
