The images devoted to lovers, singly or together, provide especial insight into the fashions of Victorian England, with one image bearing a striking resemblance to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert themselves. Around or within each illustration is a loving aphorism, of the like now found on modern Valentine's Day cards. Bound in navy morocco with gilt-stamped title and ornaments to upper cover. Mildly splayed, faint edgewear, else a near fine and rare miniature. A.e.g. Item #31399
