(N.p. c. 1900). A collection of paper weaving and embroidery samples, which evince a careful study of Froebel's gifts. While the paper weaving section adopts a repetitive color palette (green, yellow, lavender) for what appear to be a relatively rote set of patterns, the larger embroidery section presents an array of colors and designs, ranging from the precise execution of practice shapes to more complex multicolored images. The result is an illuminating and progressive album, one that charts the development of both aesthetic taste and skill.
Square 16mo. (44)pp. Some mild soiling to most samples, few album pages sport tears, and general cosmetic wear to album itself, otherwise a very good selection in a cloth-covered album, which has the student's name stamped on the upper cover. Item #31422
