Scripps' work marked the first personal history of Lincoln and is here edited by Scripps' daughter Grace Locke Scripps Dyche. Laid in is a carbon typed letter, signed by George Booth, on Cranbrook Press letterhead. Dated November 22, 1901, the letter announces a price increase on the Press' backlist. Bound in half vellum with brown paper over boards, leather lettering piece on spine, and imprint stamped in gilt on lower spine. Minor abrasion to lettering piece, else about fine. Item #31749
