Fun with Scissors or Paper Pictures.
Springfield, MA: Milton Bradley Co., 1906. Kit of materials for Froebel-esque paper cutting, including papers of varied colors and textures, some already cut but others intact. The kit also provides some stencils and plain backing paper, on which, in this instance, the user has pasted cut-out silhouettes of animals, people, and flora. The young user's hand here is obvious, and evinces the influence of Froebel generally on nascent creativity; the child has gone beyond the direct purpose of the kit to incorporate additional gifts of paper-weaving and -folding, and has even created a hand-written valentine using a heart-shaped stencil. Housed in original partitioned box, along with original instructional booklet, which provides various diagrams to illustrate the accompanying guidance. Pamphlet creased, showing some biopredation, and faintly sunned. Box intact, bearing trace superficial stains and corners repaired with packing tape. A near fine kit in a very good box. Item #32002
