Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus.
West Hatfield, MA: Pennyroyal Press, 1983. Folio. xvi, 282pp. One of 350 copies, signed by Barry Moser, with an extra suite of the 52 wood-engravings, each of them initialed by Moser, housed in a red cloth portfolio. Moser wrote that this is his favorite Pennyroyal book, because "it exemplifies what I hold to be ideal: it holds together as a unit, a coherent whole with type, text and images well balanced and well paced." It is also the first Pennyroyal book using multiple color block prints. Bound in quarter neutral morocco and red cloth covers with red leather spine label with titling and border in gilt, five raised bands. Extremely fine in morocco-backed red cloth by the Harcourt Bindery. The book and portfolio are housed together in a matching red cloth slipcase, slightly shelfworn. Item #32034
