Woodcut illustrations throughout provide crude yet evocative portraits of the main characters in T. S. Eliot's acclaimed (and much-adapted) Practical Cats. The woodcuts, though perhaps rudimentary in technical execution, cleverly reflect the personalities of the various cats: the Jellicles cavorting beside a crescent moon, and Mr. Mistoffelees curled under a queen of hearts playing card. Bound in card-backed paper, with paper label to upper cover. Some exterior staining, generic but inhibited edgewear, else a very good copy, and an oddball for most Eliot collectors. Item #32145
