ALS from Trissel on Press letterhead laid in. A sharp reproduction of nineteen illustrations from Fludd's first major work, Utriusque Cosmi Marioris scilicet et Minoris Metaphysica, printed in Oppenheim by Johann Theodor de Bry in 1617, and one illustration from Fludd's Tomus Secundus De Supernaturali (Oppenheim, de Bry, 1619). The engravings, done by de Bry and Matthias Merian the Elder, provide visual explication to Fludd's cosmogonic and Christian Hermeticist theories. Here the original illustrations were reproduced by the Bancroft Library's photographic department, David Curnutt, and Emily Rogers. Bound by Karen Pardue of the Avis Bindery in full buckram over boards with inlaid leather label. Housed in matching slipcase. Fine. Prospectus laid in. Item #32248
