1935-1938. Signed by the artist, Cherry Barr Jerry. This painting depicts a rosy-cheeked Santa Claus, his mittened-hands as much a part of his red-robed outfit as a staple feature of the puppet's design. Jerry was an artist who explored a variety of media throughout her career, developing from a position as an art instructor in Racine, Wisconsin through the Works Progress Administration's Federal Art Project program. Housed in blue and beige matting and framed in gold. Some soiling to edges of images, minor wear to frames, else fine. (Measures 17 by 12 in. [432x305mm] in a 25 1/2 by 20 1/2-in. [648x521mm] frame).
