Occupied by Colour: Putting the Palette to Work.

(Vancouver, B.C.): Heavenly Monkey Editions, 2012. Square octavo. (45)pp. One of thirty copies. This third collaboration on the various aspects of color theory has been signed by both Cohen and Hodgson. The present work examines color as employed by seventeen occupations, including architect, illuminator, printer, opthamologist, dyer, and chemist. In addition to the various tables, samples, and other tipped-in material illustrating the text -- much of it hand-colored by Cohen and Hodgson -- there is a pamphlet laid in about hair color, with samples, and a dye sample showing the effects of color saturation on fabric at different tempratures. Bound by Claudia Cohen in morocco-trimmed pastepaper boards decorated in gilt, and backed in blue morocco with a terracotta onlay and black lettering piece. The whole housed in a red cloth folding case with pastepaper edges, and a recessed compartment containing a prism. Very fine. Item #32562
