E-catalogue 51: New Children's Books
The books we read as children shape how we see the world. Whether it is an illustration that forever captured a certain character, or the manner in which the story itself is told, these helped us hold the narrative in our developing minds, with lasting impact. In view of this, we present our latest e-catalogue, the first part of which is devoted to original art by Barry Moser for several of the children's books he illustrated. Moser is the featured artist in our gallery, and his detailed, character-driven watercolors add a certain playfulness, even hilarity, to his children’s books. About two-thirds of this list is comprised of recent acquisitions: from illustrated chapbooks with their simple stories, to the visual magic of movable books.
